Getting started

Be Wild and Rebellious!

Are you stuck in a food rut?  Fed up with the same old, same old?  Not sure how to make your meal times more perky?  Or feeling like food and eating are a chore? If so, this might just be the post for you!

Experiment with being wild and rebellious, with real food!

Here are ten tips to help you get started:

1) More Raw

If you normally focus on cooked meals swap some of them to raw dishes.  Or add a small raw side dish to your main meal.

2) Saucy Soups

If you have masses of raw, add a soup (it could still be raw just heat it slightly) or experiment with a new sauce.

3) Get Spicy!

If your food is normally bland add some spices, try turmeric, ginger, black pepper, sumac, za'atar, cumin, coriander.

4) Just a Sprinkle

Find a new herb to sprinkle on top of your salad or veggies.   Maybe lemongrass, rosemary, oregano, paprika, fennel or cardamon?

5) Shape and Size Matter!

If you grate carrots, beetroot, courgette etc. try using a mandolin so you get baby matchsticks, half moons, or squiggly shaped veggies.

6) Base Jump

Tear your lettuce rather than finely shredding or visa versa.   Swap to a different coloured lettuce, or if all your salads are based on lettuce then swap it entirely for a new base.  What about diddy broccoli florets, cauliflower rice, spiralized butternut squash?

7) Get Fresh

If all your food is processed add more fresh.

8) Go Wild!

If it's all fresh, add something wild! Herbs, weeds (dandelion and chickweed are usually easily found), mushrooms (check they're not poisonous).  Find a new (sustainable) super food and add it to a smoothie.

9) Feeling naughty?

Enjoy it and observe your body? How do you feel before, during and after eating whatever it is?  You might want to try the chocolate meditation or similar pop over to

--> Meditations for more...

10) Stop and Take Note

Take some time to stop and think about which real foods make you feel alive, nourished, glowing and add more of them into your day.  Be wild, be rebellious and see what happens!

Keep well, keep happy and live as if you mean it!
